Undead (2003)

Apparently the Spierigs have another film due for release shortly, which is news that pleases me immensely. As does this, their still-joyous 2003 zombie classic, one of my favourite films of that year… got this on DVD but I’ve loaned it out, and it was on TV last night after Charlie Brooker’s Dead Set which I wanted to check out, so I stuck around to watch it. Markedly more fun than the TV show before it, which just irritated me for some reason; the last chunk of the film still doesn’t make an awful lot of sense but on the whole it just hits so many right notes. Of course, it’s one of those films where the backstory of its making is in some ways better than the film itself, but the end result is still fun.  Looking forward to the new one with interest.
